|
| Information Collection and Use Mobile Lifeline recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of your account information and takes care to protect the security of this personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure. The Mobile Lifeline Software and Web Site are both designed to be used in conjunction with each other. We collect information from our users at several different points on our website and from the Mobile Lifeline Line of Software (collectively, the Software). Mobile Lifeline is the sole owner of the information collected. Registration In order to use this Software, a user must first complete the registration form at www.mobilelifeline.com. During registration a user is required to give their contact information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact the customer as needed to provide our contracted services. Order We request information from the user on our registration form. Here a user must provide contact information and financial information (like credit card number). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer's orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user. Cookies A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the user will be limited in some areas of our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Log Files We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. Reporting The software can at your request collect specific information (such as, but not limited to, a list of files you request be encrypted) from your computer to be provided to you after secure password log on to your account at our web page. It is your responsibility to maintain the secrecy of your password so no third party can view the information collected. In order to maximize performance and improve service the Software, by default, collects system configuration information and the IP address. Passwords We store your password in a "one-way hashed" format in our database. This means we do not know your password and therefore cannot supply you with it if you forget it. Replacement passwords will only be supplied by mail to the last registered address you supplied. The registered address you supplied is available for review or modification after you securely log on at www.mobilelifeline.com. Sharing We may share aggregated demographic information in summary form with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person or company. We partner with other parties to provide specific services. When the user signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. Links This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Software. Content The Software will attempt to automatically communicate with Mobile Lifeline servers in order to permit Mobile Lifeline to carry out any security action you request, tasking action or deliver electronic content, which may include notifications, additional software, new product offerings, publications, news, links or other files ("Content") to your computer. Mobile Lifeline will generally attempt to minimize the files to your taskbar for offline viewing at your convenience. Surveys From time-to-time our site or Software requests information from users via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. This information will not be disclosed in any form that would identify an individual. Tell-A-Friend If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. We will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. We store this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. The friend may contact us at info@mobilelifeline.com to request the removal of this information from our database. Security This website/Software takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information, your information is protected both online and off-line. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Personally identifiable information is stored in a high security facility utilizing state of the art electronic access control and secure server enclosures. If you have any questions about our security policies and procedures, you can send an email to security@mobilelifeline.com. Special Offers We send all new members a welcoming email to verify username. Established members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see our choice and opt-out below. Site and Service Updates We also send the user site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the Software and Service. The Software has a secure communication method that allows us to deliver important information to your computer screen. We will communicate with you about your account, requested services, renewal or new services via e-mail, directly to your computer screen by the Software, by mail or by phone. Correction/Updating Personal Information If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us. This can be accomplished by logging into the subscriber pages at www.mobilelifeline.com and making changes. Mobile Lifeline requires a minimum level of information in order to identify you as the authorized account user in the event you contact us directly for assistance. Choice/Opt-out Our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information. For example, our non-essential e-mail has an 'opt-out' mechanism so users who buy a product from us, but don't want any marketing material, can keep their email address off of our lists. Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional materials from our partners may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the e-mail. Notification of Changes If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email or by the Software communication method. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. All changes to this policy are effective after we provide you with at least thirty (30) days' notice. We provide you with thirty (30) days notice to allow you the opportunity to notify us if you do not agree to such changes. If you have any questions about our privacy policy please contact us at info@mobilelifeline.com. |
